Creative Heart Newsletter

Shedding Light on the Creative Process

September 16th Newsletter

Greetings from Patricia West-Del Ruth:

In an endeavor to promote Cinema Arts education, I have initiated this periodical newsletter to help keep you informed about current events related to the film industry.

=================================================

First of all, the San Diego Film Festival is in town from Sept. 29th through October 3rd. A special congratulations to Executive Director Robin Laatz, for her 3rd year of creating the largest film festival in San Diego.

Friends of Creative Heart Productions will receive a 20% discount by merely logging on to the on-line ticket sales link and entering HEART20...

The Festival will be screening extraordinary films as well as filmmaker receptions and Q & A panels, in addition to the Actors Gala Ball. Check the San Diego Film Festival's website for details.

=================================================

Don't forget the 56th Annual Emmy's this Sunday starting at 5:30pm...104 Emmy's are awarded each year to deserving artists in the Television industry. Last Sunday at the Creative Arts Awards, 72 Emmy's were presented.

==================================================

On Saturday Night at the KODAK VISION AWARDS, held in Studio City, Kodak recognized all the Emmy-nominated Cinematographers who contribute to the art and craft of promoting visual story-telling. The art of Cinematography includes composition, camera movement and the use of light.

Without the cinematographers artistic contributions, the audience is left with radio. It is evident that Kodak honors and awards cinematographers because they recognize the significance and beauty of the whole film experience in relationship to Cinema Arts.

Next month at the Hollywood Film Festival, as Executive Producer of "Cinema Scene", I will have the pleasure of honoring Allen Daviau, A.S.C. with a Telly Award for his special guest appearance. I am blessed to say the show was recognized as a recipient in two different categories.

===================================================

Over and above continuing to produce educational TV programming promoting Cinema Arts, private coaching is being offered through Creative Heart Productions.

==================================================

Last but not least, Tom and I had the pleasure of attending the Television Museum of Arts and Sciences reception in Beverly Hills last week. This historical event celebrated all the TV programs that have "shot over 100 Episodes" in the past 50 years.

The event was sponsored by THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The food was unbelievable and so many of the Hollywood stars and legendary TV/Film actors (who I remember as a child) were in attendance.

==================================================

Always from the heart,

Patricia
